Purpose: This research tries to reveal the intellectual structure of Commercialization of knowledge, using co-word analysis, network analysis, and scientific visualization tools.
Methodology: Bibliometric methodology and social network analysis are used as the research methods. The research population comprises 110464 keywords in 38876 records which have been retrieved from Web of Science during 1900-2015.
Findings: Results indicated that “Knowledge Transfer”, “Technology Transfer”, and “Innovation” are the most frequent keywords in the commercialization of knowledge studies; and “Knowledge Management and Knowledge Transfer”, “Innovation and Technology Transfer”, are the most frequent keywords coming co-occurrence. Use of hierarchical cluster analysis in co-word created 11 topical clusters in commercialization of knowledge include: "Knowledge Management", "Knowledge", "Technology Transfer", "Market", "Commercialization of Technology", Knowledge Transfer", "Innovation", "Sustainable Development", "Patent" and "Commercialization".
Conclusions: it seems that in addition to factors such as Knowledge Transfer, Technology Transfer, Innovation, Commercialization, and Patent, others topics: economic topics including University-Industry Interaction, Knowledge management, Intellectual Property Rights, Research And Development, and Entrepreneurial have gained the interest of researchers in the commercialization of knowledge.
