Abstract

Aim: The present study attempts to identify the role of emotional aspects in experience and performance of information retrieval from the web among PhD students .
Methods: this present study is semi-experimental and the type of study is practical. the study sample is 50 students as selected by purposeful sampling method. The data collection is performed log file by Morae software, pre-search and post-search questionnaire and positive and negative affect (PANAS) is also applied.
Results: The study findings showed that Average positive emotions in all the various fields of science after the search is increased compared to the previous search and there was a significant association between positive and negative emotional aspects of users with search experience. The results of the relationship between emotional aspects and the search function means that any amount of emotional aspects of positive prior to the search were greater, the amount of variables search results pages, average rates Bounce Rate, Time view Results the search of Google pages, unique queries were reduced and mean time to visit each site and URLs variables increased.
