Goal: Considering the positive effects of scientific productions of scientific-citation databases on scientometric indicators of the works indexed on those databases, this research investigates the effects of altmetric scores provided by the Mendeley Scientific-Citation Network on the scientometric indicators of Scopus and Google Scholar. Methods: The present research is a basic study with a quantitative approach that uses the citation method to investigate the effects of altmetric scores of the scientific productions of the semantic web domain derived from the Mendeley and altmetrics databases on the indicator of the number of citations received for these works on Scopus. The thematic domain of the present research involves scientific productions of Iranian authors in the semantic web domain, indexed from 1960 to 2021 on the Scopus database. The statistical population of this research consisted of 271 records at the time data were extracted from the Scopus database (10/02/2022). For the statistical analysis, correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression tests were used in addition to descriptive and inferential statistics. Software used included Excel and SPSS. This research first searched scientific productions of the semantic web domain on Scopus. Then, to meet the main goal of the research, i.e., evaluating the scientific productions of Iranian authors in the semantic web domain and investigating the effects of the activities of these authors on the Mendeley and Altmetric databases on the indicator of the numbers of citations received on the Scopus, the search process was limited to Iranian-affiliated scientific production on Scopus. In the next stage, altmetric scores related to these scientific productions were retrieved from the Mendeley and Altmetrics databases and then prepared for statistical tests. The retrieved works were case studied to increase the accuracy of relating the themes of the works under study. Findings: A survey of scientific productions of semantic web domain on Scopus revealed that the highest number of the works in this domain was registered in 2010, with the first indexed

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the presence and activity of Iranian authors and researchers in the field of nursing in the ResearchGate and Mendeley databases, based on Altmetrics metrics obtained from Scopus Scientific Database.Methodology: The present study is an applied research and descriptive-survey that has been done by the scientometric method with the Altmetrics approach. The statistical population of the study includes Iranian authors and researchers in the field of nursing who had indexed documents in the Scopus database in the period of 2000-2019. 158 of these authors have been identified and reviewed by Scopus. In order to analyze the data, in addition to descriptive statistics, in the inferential statistics section with the help of Excel and SPSS software, the correlation test between Altmetrics indices in ResearchGate and Mendel with the database Scopus has been used scientifically. Results: The results show that except for the relationship between the follow-up index in ResearchGate with the Etch Index index and the citation received in Scopus, in other cases there is a significant relationship between the studied indicators. Also, there is a significant relationship between most of the indexes of the Researchgate and Mendelian databases, and only the RG score index in the Researchgate database has no significant relationship with the indexes of publications, citations, and the Achindex score in Mendelian. The relationship between most of the Mendelian and Scopus indices is also significant, and only the relationship of the followers in Mendelian with the Achindex index in the Scopus database lacks a significant relationship.Discussion and Conclusion: Considering the significant relationship between Altmetrics indexes of social networks and indexes of Scopus database, the discussion of the presence and activity of writers and researchers in scientific social networks should be pursued with more seriousness and importance.

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between academic environment, researchers' experiences and the quality of research output at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman (SBUK), Iran.Methodology: This research was applied in purpose and conducted using a scientometric approach. The research population included articles by researchers from SBUK, which were published in journals indexed in the Scopus citation database. SPSS software (version 21) was used for data analysis in this study.Findings: The findings of this study showed that the researchers' experiences have the potential to significantly predict the quality of research outputs, and an academic environment is not a suitable variable for predicting the quality of research outputs. In other words, it is the growing experience of researchers at SBUK that paves the way for the rising quality of their research outputs. Other findings of this study indicate that there is no relationship between the academic research environment and the quality of research output at SBUK. The analysis of the relationship between researchers' experience and their academic environment also showed that there is no significant relationship between these variables at SBUK.Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, in order to raise the quality of research activities, less emphasis should be placed on the quantity of research output. To provide an incentive for scholars to improve the quality of their research endeavors, academic institutions should stress the importance of the most highly cited research articles. By providing adequate research facilities and equipment (up-to-date libraries, well-equipped laboratories and advanced technologies), universities and institutes of higher education can create the ideal context for optimizing the productivity of research environments. Accordingly, any development in research experiences and the subsequent improvement in the quality of research outputs will enhance the country’s progress and excellence in various scientific fields. In this sense, the ideal goals for the comprehensive development of the country will be ultimately realized.

This research aimed to identify scientific production of Iran in Scopus database during 1999 to 2008. The research population consisted of 64826 documents which at least one of their authors was affiliated to Iranian universities or research institutions, and had been indexed in Scopus during the period studied. The results revealed that Iran's contribution to scientific production in the Middle-East in 2008 was 37 percent, while compared globally, it was less than 1%. These figures established the place of the Country in 2008 as the Second in the Middle-East, the Sixth in Asia, and the 22nd worldwide. The findings of the research showed that about 23% of the Country's scientific production available in Scopus is the result of international collaboration of Iranian researchers with other countries. Also, on the one hand,it was revealed that among others, the fields of Medicine, Chemistry, and Engineering have been the most productive branches in Iran. On the other hand, based on the results of a test of Regression, Bio-chemistry, Genetics, and Molecular Biology productions with 59.4 percent increase rate, had the highest level of increase during the decade studied. Further, examination of Iranian journals indexed in Scopus showed that Iranian Journal of Medical Archives with 638 indexed articles, had the maximum number of articles, and Journal of the Iranian Polymer with 753 citations received, was the most-cited Iranian journal in the Scopus database.
