چکیده
هدف:هدف اصلی این پژوهش، توجه به مفهوم مدیریت اطلاعات است. اطلاعات قابلیت گسترش دارد، اشاعه مییابد، تغییر میکند و تغییر ایجاد میکند و نیاز به مدیریت و اداره دارد. بنابراین لازم است به مفهوم مدیریت اطلاعات توجه شود.
روش: نوع این پژوهش کتابخانهای است که به روش مرور منابع انجام میگیرد. برای استخراج تعاریف و تاریخچه مربوط به مدیریت اطلاعات به منابع چاپی و الکترونیک مختلف (امرالد، ساینتسدایرکت، پروکوئست و وبآوساینس) مراجعه شد و تعاریف از آنها استخراج شدند.
یافتهها: پس از تحلیل و بررسی تعاریف موجود، مدیریت اطلاعات بدین صورت تعریف میشود: بهکارگیری اصول مدیریتی و ابزارهای مناسب با هدف دسترس پذیر کردن اطلاعات ارزشمند، در زمان و مکان و قالب مناسب با کمترین هزینه برای افراد مناسب به منظور بهبود و ارتقا تصمیمگیری.
نتیجهگیری: تعاریف متعدد موجود از مدیریت اطلاعات، از جنبههای مختلف به این مقوله نگاه کردهاند. به نظر میرسد با توجه به ماهیت متغیر اطلاعات و نقشهای مختلف آن، تعریف مدیریت اطلاعات نیز همواره در حال تغییر است.

چکیده [English]
Purpose: The main purpose of this work is to study the concept of information management (IM). It is important to consider the essence and nature of IM, because it is the basis for other research relating IM. Since the data source is capable of expansion, proliferation, and continuously changing, so it can cause major changes in the organizational entity or individuals.
Method: For extracting the definition and history of IM, printed and electronic resources were examined. Therefore, four databases, namely Emerald, Science Direct, ProQuest and Web of Science (WoS) were examined and searches were done with exact phrase “information management”.
Results: Information management is defined as: using management principles and tools in information process for accessing and valuing information, in suitable place, time and format with less expense for suitable person in order to improve his/her decision making and upgrading.
Conclusion: Various definitions of IM have a look at various aspects of this concept. It seems that due to the changing nature of information and its different roles, definition of IM is constantly varying according to the time requirements
